Lovonus Microfinance Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Bank & Other Financial Institution Act (BOFIA) of 1991 (as amended) and the National Microfinance Regulatory and Supervisory Framework of December 2009
To manage the financial and regulatory systems to ensure business integrity, protect the company’s bottom line, enable profitable and sustainable growth and shareholder value creation and increase the efficiency and quality of financial operations.
To accurately capture, record and report the company’s transactions in a timely manner and to exercise effective control over the assets, liabilities, income and expenditure of the company incompliance with the company’s policies and in accordance with all relevant statutory provisions and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Withholding Tax Payments, IncomeTax, VAT, PAYE and all other applicable statutory requirements.
Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise the external auditors as necessary
Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue.
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
Prepare Monthly Profitability Reports
Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable,accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
Reconciliation.
Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
Oversee the book keeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable,accounts receivable and payroll
Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
Analyzing competitors and market trends.
Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.
Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded,amortized,and disposed of as appropriate.
Assist the MD/CEO with financial reporting as required.
Qualifications / Experience
A good First Degree / HND in any discipline.
A relevant Master's Degree will be an advantage.
Professional Membership.
Must be ICAN certified.
Any other recognized professional certification will be an added advantage e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in Banking.
