Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Information and Communication Technology Department:

Job Summary

• Responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, business support applications, hardware and software that is used within Kaduna Electric.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ICT strategy, ICT plans and in alignment with the business objectives of Kaduna Electric
• Develop ICT policies and standards in line with business priorities and ensure compliance and appropriate use of ICT assets
• Define and implement Kaduna Electric's technology architecture to ensure secure, scalable and flexible ICT infrastructure
• Build and maintain a reliable technology framework for data collaboration, communication and promote the appropriate use of ICT within Kaduna Electric while ensuring the security of ICT Assets and
• Information (disaster recovery and continuity planning)
• Manage ICT vendors/ service providers on behalf of Kaduna Electric - to efficiently manage ICT procurement, and coordinate all requests to integrate new technologies, acquire new hardware or software, and replace obsolete equipment or services to meet an ever-changing environment
• Manage daily ICT operations and resources/ assets - provide continuous improvement and technical support to the Kaduna Electric communications and data infrastructures
• Controlling access/user permissions and privileges to Kaduna Electric ICT assets
• Install new /rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage etc.
• Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans, also ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Monitoring database efficiency, providing data architectures for proposed systems, overseeing database design including setting up and testing new data handling systems, updating and amending existing databases
• Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
• Maintain data center environment and network monitoring system
• Coordinate active directory and email administration
• Recommending systems specifications for new and existing applications
• Provision of training and user manuals to users of new and existing systems
• Keeping up to date with technical and industry developments
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned.

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Designing and scheduling jobs for ICT operations
• In-depth knowledge of scripting
• Deploy server applications
• Specializes in different server operating systems
• Manage user and group accounts in Windows domains or other LDAP application
• Configure SQL Server Clustering and understand load-balancing technologies
• Knowledge working with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership quality

Experience and Minimum Requirements

• 5 - 9 years work experience involving managing ICT systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Masters in IT systems management or related field
• MBA will also be added advantage
• Work experience in the administration of corporate applications
• ICT Projects delivery experience
• Three years supervisory experience
• Extensive experience with Management Information Systems in energy utilities
• Certifications such as Comptia A+, MSCE, OCA, A+, CSDA, CSDP, MCSD, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, ERP, CRM, Cloud Computing and Virtualization will be essential.
