Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Well Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our projects in the oil and gas sector.
As a Well Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning, design, and execution of well operations for our clients.
You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe drilling and completion of wells, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects, and your ability to handle technical challenges and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams will be key to achieving optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop well proposals, budgets, and plans in line with project objectives.
Conduct feasibility studies and wellsite assessments to determine the most suitable drilling and completion methods.
Prepare drilling programs and procedures, including casing design, well control plans, and drilling fluids.
Oversee drilling operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Monitor and analyze drilling performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Identify and resolve technical challenges and operational issues during drilling and completion activities.
Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to drilling crews and service contractors.
Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and other professionals to optimize well design and maximize production.
Review and evaluate well logs, drilling reports, and technical data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to well engineering.
Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and best practices within the organization.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to well engineering activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
6 - 10 working experience in oil and gas drilling and well operations
Proven experience working as a Well Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of drilling and completion techniques, equipment, and materials.
Familiarity with drilling software and technical tools, such as well planning and torque & drag modeling.
Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to well operations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Professional certifications or licenses in well engineering or related disciplines are desirable. (COREN, IWCF, WIPC).
