Job Description
As a Telecommunication Engineer Systems Lead, your role is to oversee and manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems within our client’s organization.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of the telecommunication infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
System Design and Planning:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and design telecommunication systems that meet their needs.
Develop system architectures, network diagrams, and technical specifications for telecommunication infrastructure projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate different technology options and make recommendations.
System Implementation and Integration:
Lead the implementation of telecommunication systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and contractors to deploy and integrate hardware, software, and network components.
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
System Maintenance and Support:
Establish maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure the ongoing performance and availability of telecommunication systems.
Monitor system performance, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users, resolving telecommunication-related problems and inquiries.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security measures to protect telecommunication systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to telecommunication systems, ensuring compliance
Lead a team of telecommunication engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as network engineers, software developers, and project managers, to achieve project goals and deliver integrated solutions.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, configurations, procedures, and user guides.
Prepare regular reports on system performance, project status, and key performance indicators for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced Degrees may be preferred for senior positions.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining telecommunication systems.
Strong knowledge of telecommunication technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, VoIP, GSM, LTE).
Proficiency in network design and configuration, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Experience with telecommunication software and tools, such as network monitoring systems and performance analysis tools.
Familiarity with security principles and practices related to telecommunication systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Project management skills to effectively manage telecommunication projects from initiation to completion.
