Job Title: International Consultant to Strengthen Case Management System
The purpose of this assignment is to support the capacity strengthening of social welfare and justice service workforce through the implementation of a child protection case management system at federal and state levels of Government as part of efforts to improve quality of child protection services for children in Nigeria.
The assignment will require technical expertise to build capacity of both Government and NGOs/CSOs social workers to deliver services for children through a standardized toolkit for case management processes including data collection, assessment, planning, referral, and reporting.
Revised case management harmonized tools are currently being configured into the child protection information management system CPIMS + V2.
The Contractor will also monitor and supervise trained persons with the use of a monitoring and evaluation toolkit as part of evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the case management training.
Conduct a desk review of the social welfare and justice service providers with the aim to identifying the capacity gaps to be strengthened with respect to the use of the harmonised case management tools.
Assessment of stakeholders' capacity in case management identifying gaps to inform development of the training guide.
Develop a workplan with specific dates of training and share with all the field offices for their planning.
Facilitate training of Government and Non-Government partners on case management using already developed training materials reviewed to fit the context and the capacity needs of case workers.
Monitor implementation of case management of selected trained personnel and provide on-the-spot coaching.
Liase with the CP IMO to submit a database that captures the details of master trainers and other trainees per location for subsequent follow up interventions.
Qualifications
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology and other Social Science course is required.
Minimum of eight (8) years experience working in the Child Protection sector with experience in case management systems at the national level
Training case workers on child protection case management in both development and emergency is a plus.
Good facilitation skills.
Good communication skills.
Good understanding and experience in the field of child protection will be a valuable asset.
Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral forms.
Leadership and participation in previous assignment and in capacity similar or higher than this assignment.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
