The Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project is a capacity development organization that is committed to inspiring, investing, engaging and facilitating growth opportunities for young persons in transitional stages of their lives. We ignite young people to set career goals and walk them through the achievement of such goals enabling them to transit seamlessly from school to work. Job Title: Volunteer - Strategy Development and Partnerships or Virtual with After School Mentoring Project
Location: Calabar
Job Description
The Volunteer will be in charge of:
- Determining and clarifying strategic and operational problems
- Identifying problems and seeking solutions reviewing current strategy
- Undertaking research into the industry sector, markets and competitors
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting data and statistics
- Compiling and presenting information verbally, visually and in writing
- Identifying and assessing the pros and cons of possible strategies outlining objectives
- Developing, advising about and implementing agreed solutions
- Identifying strategic partnerships for Afterschool Project
Volunteer Logistics:
- Estimated hours required per week: 30 hours per week
- The estimated duration of the project is: 3-6 months
- This position is On-site in Washington United States or Virtual
- The office can provide amenities to volunteers such as: Internet, Office space
Desired Skills and Experience
- A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Senior Consultant candidates, including: intellectual ability, strong analytic skills, imagination and creativity, judgment and maturity, curiosity, interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, high energy level, professional integrity, and demonstrated leadership.
The candidate will typically have:
- Excellent undergraduate degree from a top tier university
- 2 to 5 months of experience with industry or functional work
- Business-level fluency in English language
- International experience acquired through internships or study abroad
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effectiveness in the use of computer tools, e.g., spreadsheets and databases
- Transferable skills and experience from previous strategic and fundraising roles will be required
- The duration of this position is 3 months
