About the job
We are looking for a Technical Procurement Specialist to join our team and help manage our organization’s procurement needs; providing end to end procurement processing of technical bids while providing competitive market analysis; supplier identification and relationship management; Suppliers evaluation and execution of the RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
Responsibilities
Lead cyclical sourcing events, as well as mid-contract negotiations, as needed.
Provide vendor and Subcontract sourcing and pricing for Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), as requested.
Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
Maintain positive customer and vendor relationships.
Support in developing and delivering against the long-term procurement strategy.
Communicate with suppliers to address and improve performance concerns.
Analyse information to assess root cause, improvement opportunities, and associated risk.
Provide global expertise and support with data mining, analysis, and reporting.
Develop and implement cost savings projects and financial forecasting.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a similar field preferred.
Minimum of 6 years work experience as a Technical Procurement Specialist or similar role.
Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
Relevant certifications in Procurement and Supply chain management will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems.
Contract management and supplier experience.
Project management experience.
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain management.
Computer literate, to include advanced Excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
