About the job

• We are looking for a Technical Procurement Specialist to join our team and help manage our organization’s procurement needs; providing end to end procurement processing of technical bids while providing competitive market analysis; supplier identification and relationship management; Suppliers evaluation and execution of the RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cyclical sourcing events, as well as mid-contract negotiations, as needed.
• Provide vendor and Subcontract sourcing and pricing for Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), as requested.
• Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
• Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
• Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
• Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
• Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
• Maintain positive customer and vendor relationships.
• Support in developing and delivering against the long-term procurement strategy.
• Communicate with suppliers to address and improve performance concerns.
• Analyse information to assess root cause, improvement opportunities, and associated risk.
• Provide global expertise and support with data mining, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop and implement cost savings projects and financial forecasting.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a similar field preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years work experience as a Technical Procurement Specialist or similar role.
• Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
• Relevant certifications in Procurement and Supply chain management will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems.
• Contract management and supplier experience.
• Project management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain management.
• Computer literate, to include advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
