Lekki Freeport Terminal part of the CMA-CGM Group, is the only Container Terminal Operator in Nigeria’s only deep seaport. It is set to become the largest container terminal in Nigeria and West Africa with enormous potential of becoming fully automated thereby contributing to the large trading operations of Nigeria and indeed, West Africa. The premise on which Leeki Freeport Terminal will operate is to connect global maritime trade to Nigeria and the rest of the world.

Job Title: Financial Controller (Local - within Nigeria)

Position Summary
This position is for an experienced Financial Controller, or Comptroller, under the guidance of the Chief Finance Officer to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
Responsibilities
Creation of internal audit, manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
Creation of analytical accounting.
Analysis and follow-up of costs.
Creation, and follow-up of group reporting.
Reporting to shareholders (monthly, quarterly, annually).
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Support month-end and year-end close process.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Business partner (follow-up of commercial development, market shares, …)
Super-user on Billing Module, ERP, and reporting module.
Must provide all the relevant information and statistics KPI`s to the management team when needed.
Must maintain high stakeholder’s level satisfaction by being proactive in the resolution of the issues.
Additional controller duties as necessary.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree / Higher National Diploma / Professional Degree in Finance, Accounting, or any related course.
Professional Certification – ICAN or similar
Experience:
10 years + in Finance and Accounting.
Experience in Container terminal is a plus.
Analysis and control of GL accounts
Creation of analytical accounting
Analysis and follow-up of costs
Creation, and follow-up of group reporting
Reporting to shareholders (monthly, quarterly, annually)
Budgeting
Creation of internal audit
