Job Title: Tour Guide (Art Gallery)
Location: Lagos

Role Summary
Tour guides accompany groups of visitors to tourist attractions, whether on day trips or longer visits, and give them information and insights that help them make the most of the experience. They are also responsible for ensuring the safety of the group and ensuring that tour groups remain together. Serves as an ambassador educator and entertainer for the museum.
These individuals possess a thorough knowledge of a museum's exhibits, which allows them to explain an exhibit or artifact's significance, and answer any questions that guests might have.
Responsibilities
Describe points of interest around the city to the group and answer any questions, which requires learning a comprehensive history of each check point
Provide directions to visitors who would like to check out a specific area at a later date, and provide information related to lodging, food and other amenities
Monitor the behavior of the group, especially when young children are in it, and ensure everyone remains in compliance with the rules
Greet visitors as soon as they get on board the bus, and show people to their seats if necessary
Be willing to put own spin on tour points, such as making jokes and providing insightful commentary
Work with management to develop new tour routes based on sites visitors have expressed interest in
Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor at all times
Be comfortable speaking to small and large groups of people of all ages.
Conducting occasional tours, if necessary, of museum and facilities (behind the scenes) for VIPs, special visiting groups, etc.
Dealing skillfully with a variety of visitors under a variety of circumstances.
Continually keeping informed about changes in museum exhibits.
Assisting staff at the information desks by providing information to museum visitors and answering their questions about the Nike Art Gallery particularly if your tour is late arriving.
Assisting, on occasion, with evening special event programs.
Taking responsibility to find a replacement docent if you cannot give a tour that has been assigned to you. A list of current docents and phone numbers is provided to all docents. Tour schedules are completed and docents are assigned tours approximately four weeks
Job Skills & Qualifications
Reqiured:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree is a plus
1 - 2 years of work experience.
Previous experience working as a tour guide
Experience with public speaking is a plus
Able to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately
Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
Exceptional communication skills
Basic computer skills, including email and word processing
Outgoing personality
Flexible schedule to work on weekends
Undertaking research and planning tours
preparing and giving presentations
Offering sightseeing advice
Organising and leading excursions
Problem solving
Translating and interpreting
Potential tour guides should be fit and healthy with lots of energy and confidence, be able to work effectively without supervision, possess a calm 'customer focused' manner, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Remuneration
N80,000 - N100,000 Monthly.
