Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Responsibilities
Develop and manage new and existing relationships with corporate entities for funding and delivery of Executive Education and Special programs
Prospect, identify and build a strong pipeline of business opportunities and ideas for the sponsorship of new and existing corporate clients, Foundations and Institutions.
Build and sustain an influential network of contacts both internally and externally to promote and sponsor the Leadership and Executive Education and Special programs e.g. towards addressing SDG opportunities, etc.
Provide advisory and manage commercial relationships with CEO’s, HR Directors, Sustainable Development/Community Development Managers and other relevant officers of partner organizations
Coordinate with the Academic Director the program design, curriculum development, resource planning, implementation, and monitoring of Executive Education programs at operational and strategic level including drafting training guidelines, SOPs, and policies, provision of instruction methodology for Executive Education programs and update course content on applicable learning management systems.
Coordinate with the Financial Controller on the costing and margins for running each of the programs using market intelligence, benchmarking, etc., to ensure the programs generate healthy returns.
Drive the strategy and implementation of other special projects and initiatives e.g. Women in STEM; Catch girls young for STEM; STEM programs for disadvantage communities (Niger Delta, North East Region), etc.
Support the Fundraising Manager to drive the strategy and implementation of other projects and initiatives designed for fundraising and brand positioning.
Drive the definition, development and implementation of service standards, contracts and service level agreements
Drive Client’s onboarding and orientation activities to enhance client’s experience
Lead Executive Education programs faculty in-country and on-campus experience (Airport Transfers, Accommodation Booking or room preparation, feeding etc.)
Lead Executive Education programs administration (E.g. payments, thank you letters etc.)
Maintain and regularly update a client database e.g. Client records, communiques, program certificates, sponsor requirement, etc.
Attend events and represent at promotional events and contribute to the delivery of presentations at conferences and other such events
Support with any other related tasks as may be required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Social Sciences or related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, fundraising, coordination role
Excellent communication skills
Good relationship, effective networking and negotiation skills
Ability to make decisions and solve problem and strong attention to detail
Previous experience of client relationship and business development essential
Demonstrable skills in prospecting new clients and identify prospect’s needs and issues
Demonstrated ability to clearly disseminate and retain complex information
Strong work ethic, drive, and energy to manage and support strategic initiatives
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Strong Interpersonal skills
Proven organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
Able to work in a start-up environment and across different hierarchy levels
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and demonstrated commitment to excellence
Must be service-oriented and able to liaise with all levels of staff
