Rossland Group since the year 2000 provides market research and management consulting services to clients in the private and public sectors within and outside Nigeria. In 2013, it expanded the scope of its services to include Professional Background Screening and Business Brokerage. In 2015 and 2016, it added franchise consulting and recruitment services respectively.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pasture Production & Baling Specialist (PPBS)

Job Description

• Develop and supervise work plans for meeting hay production and processing targets for Rhode grass by local producers across selected states in Nigeria
• Supervise and implement improved hay production practices by our partners
• Establish demonstration trials for Rhode grass production in select locations in Nigeria
• Collect, analyse and report technical results from demonstration fields
• Organize open days ( knowledge transfer) sessions with local farmers
• Monitor and supervise a team consisting of Extension Agents (EAs) who will be working with farmers and processors to improve and increase production quality and quantity
• Access baling practices amongst processors and introduce suitable baling that aligns with the requirement of our buyers.
• Provide guidance on pasture improvement policies (in particular Rhode grass) in Nigeria by cultivating good working relationship with livestock department directors at federal and state levels.
• Plus any other related task as may be required by the management

Qualifications & Experience

• M.Sc in Agriculture with specialization in pasture / forage production
• Knowledge of Rhode Grass production and processing will be an advantage
• At least 5 years’ field experience providing extension support to forage farmers and processors
• Ability to manage a team and achieve results
• Demonstrated ability to summarize data and write technical and non-technical reports in English
• Good inter-personal skills and ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural staff
• Excellent command of MS Office applications and proficiency in Power Point
• Valid driving license and a good driving record.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a mid to senior level position, and a full time employment. The initial period shall be for one year, renewable on an annual basis. Starting salary will depend on relevant qualifications and experience.
