Job Title: SQL Database Management - Subject Matter Expert

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing support of SQL Infrastructure
Installation and configuration of SQL Server in single and cluster mode.
Primarily role is supporting the production and development SQL 2008/2012 databases
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL on Windows Servers
Configuring and maintaining Database replication / standby / clusters.
Creation of maintenance plans and jobs for update stats, defragmentation
Verify that Server has enough resources for acceptable performance
Review contention for CPU, memory, network, and disk resources
Review fragmentation by investigating row chaining and other areas of fragmentation
Capture Performance Statistics using performance monitors
Define Backup policy and retention policy for complete/differential/transaction backup
Conduct backup, restoration drills for backup verification in different scenarios.
Hands on experience and excellent knowledge of DB administration, License Management, Version upgrades and migrations
Execution of backup/recovery procedures
Creation and Maintenance of Database Instances & Performance fine tuning
Responsible for driving all P1, P2, incidents, change requests and OEM/ vendor management for the tower
Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain
