Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer would be responsible to steer the financial direction of the business, and undertakes all strategic financial planning.
This role would be responsible for fundraising and management, strategic/financial advisory, investment analysis, business planning, project/ corporate finance, strategy development, transaction/business advisory, capital formation, creation of economic value, buy side & sell side advisory (due diligence), divestiture advisory, valuation, M&A advisory, financial modelling, feasibility studies and drive business development in emerging markets.
Duties and responsibilities
Coordinate company’s deal/transaction structure and fund-raising projects.
Develop investment policy, manage the enterprise valuation, analyse investment opportunities and prepare investment proposals for management consideration and decision-making;
Responsible for defining the appropriate liquidity quantum that the business should maintain.
Prepare transaction and investment proposals for both green and brown field operations
Develop, review, audit and/or interpret financial models to estimate project cash flows, return profiles and sensitivities; optimize the value of their operating assets.
Prepare investment marketing materials e.g. teasers and information memorandum; Partnership (PPP) transaction structure (e.g. joint ventures), request for proposals etc.
Develop financial analysts for current and future assignments; develop work plan and manage own team and clients during various transaction phases;
Manage communications with lenders, investors and other stakeholders.
Plan and manage due diligence activities to assess potential acquisition opportunities
Develop business plans and investment cases for new ventures/projects in line with strategic direction and rolling plan
Analyse financial statements to assess business health and economic performance and provide strategic guidance for management as well as propose corrective actions;
Manage strategy/budget review sessions; review weekly financial and performance reports and monitor performance of all SBUs
Review expansion strategy and execute key initiatives to boost performance and control associated financial risk
Prepare board papers for use in board and board-committee meetings; Prepare management updates and public presentations on specific industry issues.
Assist with regulatory reviews and risk-based assessments of operating investments and managed interface with regulators;
Develop investor relations charter and strategy for use by the business in engaging key institutional investors.
Research and analyse industry data to guide client’s strategic & operational decisions;
Develop presentations and reports showing analysis of market/economic trends and outlook;
Analyze macro-economic outlook and corresponding investment opportunities;
Develop and propose potential investments based on the company’s investment criteria
Performs M&A and Corporate Finance covering deal origination, pre-deal evaluation, due diligence (buy and sell-side), business valuation, deal structuring and divestment.
Develop high quality and functional Financial modelling tools
Debt Portfolio Management and Restructuring, Positive Investment relations
Develop effective Capital structure for the company
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 5years in fund raising.
A relevant postgraduate business qualification (MBA or equivalent tertiary qualification)
Professional membership of ICAN, ACCA, CFA
Strong Business Management, Agricultural value chain and International Business management
