Job Title: Manager, Oncology
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who has a healthcare background with product management experience.
You will manage mDoc’s expanding oncology programs in West, East, and Southern Africa and will help to drive further expansion of our programs.
You are intellectually curious and therefore will harness evidence to help drive our myriad cancer programs while ensuring we are generating and disseminating the evidence.
You will work closely with the clinical leadership to refine the oncology clinical performance dashboard in concert with the data and engineering teams, product and project leads and coaches which we will use routinely to track our business development, partnership success, operational excellence, clinical/quality performance, patient engagement and experience, and financial achievements.
Given we are a technology firm, you will use digital tools to track, predict our success as well as manage our members. A keen interest and openness to working with technology are critical.
Business acumen is also critical because we are focused on demonstrating that we can drive measurable large-scale impact while providing affordable high-quality self-care virtual support.
Responsibilities
You will:
Plan and design new oncology programs with a lens on generating and publishing evidence, proactively defining and monitoring progress in pursuit of measurable large-scale impact.
Oversee a large team with an 80/20 view – the right mix of the big picture and granular oversight, supporting management and clinical teams to support the needs of members.
Work closely with external and internal stakeholders.
Be strategic and laser-focused on building and expanding relationships with public and private partners understanding that our belief at mDoc is that collaboration within and across sectors is the only way to amplify the impact we have on people’s lives.
Effectively manage the P&L for the business unit with excellence in strategic planning and operational oversight.
Build capability of the team so that data analytics are front and center of all projects and real-time data is used to foster innovation, course-correct, and ensure better service to our members.
Work with the management and associate team to develop project plans that ensure targets, milestones and goals are appropriately planned and achieved, and systems that ensure optimal oversight.
Collaborate with clinical, quality, product, tech, marketing, and growth teams to optimize our support.
Conduct Gemba walks frequently to monitor the end-to-end progress of the programs by going out with community ambassadors, shadowing coaches virtually, and at the hubs
Seek and lead the creation of new opportunities, including concept and proposal development.
Drive dissemination of implementation experience in peer-reviewed publications and global/local scientific conferences.
Ensure fidelity of clinical programming in our work.
Work closely with the research team and external strategic partners to design evidence programs that help us better understand the impact of our innovative integrated self-care approach on our members.
Support business development efforts and investment opportunities and co-lead proposal development process when needed.
Leverage digital tools to manage the team and ensure full adoption by clinical team members
Monitor clinical quality dashboards.
Contribute to a data-driven culture of real-time learning, feedback, and rapid iteration.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a clinician with business experience and has managed teams in the past.
MBA or Master's Degree required.
Clinical Degree preferred in addition to the graduate-level degree.
Management experience required. You must have had experience managing teams, and understanding how to manage and lead and work with stakeholders.
Data analytics and comfort with data tools are required as well as technology to lead, manage and optimize our programs.
Exceptional writing, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to conceptualize and execute on tight timelines, and juggle competing priorities.
Comfort in working with a global team and in a startup environment.
