Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), a division of Sahara Power Plc, is Nigeria's largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government.
The consortium has the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) which generates about 84,000MW in capacity and has a global efficiency record of a maximum down time period of slightly above three minutes annually as technical partners.
This partnership has positioned IKEDC to effectively drive its commitment to deliver efficient and sustainable power supply through investments in new technology, infrastructure upgrade and human capital development. Job Title: Head (Legal and Contracts)
Location: Lagos
Role Purpose
Responsible for providing legal support to CEO/MD
Role Accountabilities
- Oversees all legal and contracts related activities of IKEDC
- Represent IKEDC in highly sensitive matters in the courts
- Represent IKEDC in legal matters before concerned authorities
- Formulate important policies pertaining to various legal issues in consultation with leadership team.
- Contribute to meeting discussions, as and when required, and advising members on the legal, governance, accounting and tax implications of proposed policies
- Responsible for standardization of contracts within the organization
- Analyze the outcome of claims investigations and interpret
- Engage in Negotiations with with 3rd parties on compensation
- To ensure proper communication between other departments and legal unit in order to seek clarifications pertaining to cases coming up for hearing, providing legal opinions and also updating the departments on the status of the cases. Copied from: www.hotnigerianjobs.com
Experience & Qualifications
Qualification, Experience & Essential Knowledge
