Telvida is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
• Facilitate and complete monthly procedures
• Analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and budgets
• Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
• Assist with financial and tax audits, preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
• Documentation and monitoring of internal controls
• Coordinate ERP and CRM systems usage and reporting
• Provide support to sales and marketing team
• Plan and evaluate all accounting procedures and policies to ensure transactions are efficient/ effective, accounting is accurate and complete
• Manage key banking relationships to facilitate company’s operation
• Checking and reviewing the monthly payroll, staff salaries and the salary slips.
• Other projects as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of accounting theory with Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, CPA , ACCA will be an added advantage
• 2+ years accounting/finance experience in an audit or accounting firm
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
