Job Title: Continental Cook
Location: Delta
Job Summary
Is responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of continental dishes prepared in order to satisfy and exceed the expectations of clients. You will be responsible for looking after the areas you work within, making sure they are clean, tidy and well maintained at all times.
You will have a sound awareness of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene rules and regulations and work in a manner which complies with them at all times.
You will be responsible for upholding the highest standards in terms of food quality and the effectiveness and efficiency with which you produce food items.
You will be expected to work in a professional manner, being flexible, dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic and will have sound communication skills to ensure outstanding service.
Responsibilities
Preparation, cooking and presenting Continental dishes.
Assist with stock ordering and monitoring procedure.
Check freshness of food and report out-of-date items.
Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control and end to end food production
Deliver on all company measures & targets
Follow all company operational kitchen process and procedures, achieving all required standards
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety at all times
Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control and end to end food production

Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers including manning the live cooking stations if required
Monitor food consumption to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and minimum waste
Support the Camp boss in the introduction of new seasonal dishes
Take responsibility for your own personal development
Cascade knowledge and expert cooking to all kitchen staff
Suggested innovation and commercially viable ideas to improve food quality
Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
Perform any reasonable duties as required from time to time in order to contribute to the achievement of business aims and objectives.
Requirements:
Expertise in Continental cooking
Thrives under pressure in a high volume food environment
Possess/develop a food & customer focused approach to work
High standards of personal hygiene
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Detailed and precise working
High level of enthusiasm and drive to achieve high standards
Hard working, flexible and prepared for change
Ambitious and driven by over exceeding customer expectations

Excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
SSCE / OND / HND / NCE /B.Sc. / B.Ed. / B.Tech
The ideal candidate must have valid certifications which must include BOSIET or OSP.
Minimum of 3 years experience in this position.
Certification from a culinary school is an added advantage.
He must be able to supervise other cooks and Kitchen Assistant.
Must, understand basic food hygiene and Safety.
He must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He should be able to work under pressure and must be result oriented.
Solid experience in a similar style of cooking
Excellent knowledge of relevant food and health & safety regulations
