Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Awka, Anambra
Duties
The University Librarian is responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for the Administration of the University Library and the co-ordination of library services in the University and its Campuses, Colleges, Faculties, Schools, Departments, Institutes and other teaching and research units.
By virtue of his position, the University Librarian also advises the Vice-Chancellor on budget allocation for books, journals etc.
Qualifications/Experience
The candidate must possess the following:
A Doctorate degree in Library and Information Science from a recognised University and a member of the Nigerian Library Association of Nigeria (NLA).
The candidate should also have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience in a University Library or a similar system with five (5) out of the fifteen (15) years not being below the rank of a Deputy University Librarian or its equivalent.
The candidate must show evidence of considerable scholarship and a thorough understanding of new techniques in library operation services and must be computer literate.
He/She must not be above sixty-five (65) years of age before the date of appointment.

Other Conditions of Service
In accordance with the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendments) Act, 2012, the appointment shall be for a period of five (5) years and may be renewed for a further period of one year and no more.
Other fringe benefits and allowances are as currently applicable to the position in other Federal Universities as prescribed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and as determined from time to time by the governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
