Represent the COMPANY in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and other relevant integrity tests been conducted by the OEM and act positively and professionally
Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve quality issues
Review Company packages, Contractor procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and other technical and quality documents as required.
Ensures that all testing requirements identified in COMPANY specifications are addressed by contractor or supplier.
Verify that all testing procedures have been approved and are readily available for implementation. Confirm testing parameters are duly recorded and testing equipment calibrated.
Review, Witness and Hold point inspection during procurement and construction in accordance with standard requirements
Verify that all rotating equipment systems are built in accordance with the design by carry out visual inspection of the rotating equipment package for overall assembly and installation progress, record and report any defect.
Operate inspection / test equipment and record / download inspection data
Attend and witness testing associated with Rotating equipment and ancillary systems. Typical tests include radiographic test for fabricated connecting spools, hydrostatic test, alignment checks between coupling and site acceptance test (which includes commissioning) as designated on the approved Inspection Test Plan for the project
Assist in Verification, Monitoring and Close-out of Punch List items;
Ensure compliance with approved Quality procedures by maintaining accurate rotating records, including protocols and equipment history
Perform other tasks as may be assigned by COMPANY
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification:
HND or Degree - Mechanical Engineering, Chartered Engineer of relevant Engineering institution or equivalent
Professional Experience (number of years): 10-years and above of experience in Rotating equipment inspection, with Project background within Oil & Gas industry. Construction experience is required on Electrical/Instrument installations.
Experienced on a wide range of rotating equipment environments (Compressors, Pumps and engines).
Must have knowledge of applicable codes and standards of ASME and API
Minimum Professional Certification(s):
A member of Nigerian Society of Engineer (NSE) or other international and recognized chartered body
COREN Certified
Conversant with API - (API 610-Centrifugal Pumps, API 611-General Purpose Steam Turbines, API 614-Lubrication & Shaft Sealing, API 617-Axial/Centrifugal Compressors, API 618-Reciprocating Compressors, API 619-Rotary Type Positive Displacement Compressors for Petroleum, Petrochemical & Natural Gas Industries), ASME & ASNT.
General Requirements:
Demonstrates good knowledge and understanding of rotating engineering principles – applies them in some complex and non-routine context.
Ability to evaluate process and rotating equipment performance in order to determine production optimization opportunities
Ability to communicate well at all levels within the Company.
Ability to analyze inspection data trends and make recommendation for inspection level and frequency changes.
Good Physical Condition, requires walking, climbing, and tolerance to environmental conditions
Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word; MS Excel; MS Outlook; etc)
Fluency in English and ability to communicate in equipment supplier’s language
