Job Title: GBV/ASRH Project Manager
Location: Borno
Details
The Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Project Manager will be responsible to oversee the capacity building and mentoring of GBV and ASRH staff, and quality implementation of GBV/ASRH response and prevention programming in NE Nigeria. This includes both direct delivery and collaboration with and mentoring of local partners.
This position is a temporary position for 1 year, based in MMC, Borno State, Nigera, with regular travels to the deep-field locations.
Duties and responsibilities
Management: Ensure overall management of the GBV/SRH sector, development of CO GBV and ASRH strategy and facilitating the smooth implementation of GBV/ASRH activities directly and with and through partners.
Technical: Provide researched and referenced technical advice to the GBV/ASRH team and partners while ensuring quality and timely information management
Logs and Finance: As the sector lead, provide an oversight on all GBV/ASRH budgets and procurements, ensuring adequate monitoring of budgets according to the procurement and spending plans.
Staff Management and Capacity Development: Participate in the recruitment, development and retention of GBV/ASRH staff providing appropriate job description for each function.
Representation: Actively participate in various coordination forums and ensure learning from these forums is used for improving project implementation.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in public health, Nursing, international development, psychology, or other related discipline.
5 years of relevant programme management experience.
Demonstrate clear understanding of gender, human rights and violence against women and girls.
Experience in working with and building national partner capacity.
Previous experience leading teams on GBV response and risk mitigation strategies in emergencies.
Experience facilitating trainings and workshops on responding to and preventing GBV.
Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting.
Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
Knowledge, skills and experience in participatory methods of community development and mobilization.
Personal qualities:
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
Excellent coordination and networking skills.
Excellent computer skills in programs such as: MS Word, Excel, Power point
Ability to work under pressure in a potentially unstable security environment.
