Job Title: Group Head, Enterprise Risk Management
Location: Abuja
Key Responsibilities
The Group Head Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for developing, maintaining, managing and executing a comprehensive process for identifying, accessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on risks that may impact on the performance of the various companies: Agro & Telecomm, Oil & Gas, Mortgage Bank, Capital Project & Equipment Management, Aluminum roofing sheets, Microfinance Bank, Haulage and Transportation and Real Estate Construction.
Analyzes risk information from both internal and external data sources to update understanding of risk exposures and trends.
Collaborate with Internal Audit on the creation of Insurance to influence appropriate insurance coverage.
Also to ensure that risks are identified and considered in the development of strategic vision, and proactively managed to balance both the risk and rewards of business.
Continuously improves ongoing, consistent and robust ERM practices to identify, prioritize, assess, mitigate, monitor and report on the risks and opportunities across the Companies;
Develop effective relationships with various levels of management across the companies to build and maintain risk management ownership and accountability;
Support top-down risk assessments and collaborates with bottom-up functional risk assessment owners to ensure well-informed enterprise risk assessment results.
Compile report to top Management indicating the impact possible risk on Company’s profile and develop daily key risk indicators.
Create contingency plans to manage crises.
Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses
Evaluate employee’s risk awareness and train them when necessary
Requirements
First degree Risk Management or other related courses in Social Science
MBA or M.Sc. in Risk Management
Relevant professional qualifications from a recognized Enterprise Risk Management professional body (e.g. Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals Nigeria – AERMP and Risk Management Association of Nigeria –RIMAN)
Minimum of 12 years work experience of which 6 should be in a senior management position.
Experience with excellent reporting, risk assessment, documentation, implementation and/or design of internal controls.
Strong leadership skills and ability to navigate effectively in a matrixed, global environment including working effectively at all levels in the organization and across the various companies;
Possesses high energy level, intellectual curiosity, innovation mindset, and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment;
Proven experience as a risk management, risk control and thinking out-of-the-box personnel;

% of process areas involved in risk assessment

# of risk awareness and training conducted for staff.
Effectiveness of the risk management practices that are controlling material risks
External funds under management
Level of inherent risk
