Job Title: Program Officer - Pediatrics Art
Location: Central Office, Abuja

Slot: 3 Openings (2 Pediatric and 1 Adolescent Program Officer)
Responsibilities
- Support program implementation by providing onsite needs assessments, mentoring, preceptorship and technical support
- Monitor and evaluate programs
- Work with hospital staff and focal persons, and colleagues to effectively address operational challenges (including lab equipment breakdowns, training needs, and commodity supply)
- Facilitate communication, collaboration, task-sharing and teamwork among clinic staff
- Participate in quality improvement
- Participate in program clinical/educational activities
- Participate in operational research and program data analysis
- Ensure that site and patient-level data including clinical data, laboratory data, and community data are collected and documented into appropriate registers and tools
- Supervise site programmatic quality of care assessments
- Provide onsite clinical mentoring and technical assistance to clinical staff and conduct training.
- Report all activities to the Program Manager Pediatrics ART, Technical Advisor Pediatrics ART and the Director/Head, Clinical Services Department.
- Adhere and abide by the ethics and code of conduct of the Institute.
- Carry out any other duties/ assignments as directed by the Director Clinical Services department.
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of University degree in Medicine. MPH or related Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication (oral and written) and facilitation skills with proficiency in the computer programming - Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation skills are required.
- Proficiency in data analysis, good inter and intrapersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet organizational targets/goals.
- Ability to evaluate data and prepare quality reports often under pressure and in complex situations.
- Being goal oriented with ability to plan and organize, make decisions, manage time and practice critical thinking.
Prior Work Experience:
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years professional level experience managing public health and health delivery with emphasis on pediatric care and treatment.
- She/he must have experience working with PEPFAR funded Pediatric care and treatment program.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and management of TB programs.
Language Proficiency:
- English language (high proficiency in verbal and written expression)
Job Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the broad range of pediatric care and treatment issues. Understanding of the major issues affecting pediatric care and treatment programs.
