Job Description
Deliver sales and organisation objectives through effective leadership and management of the Marketing team.
Ensure resources are used in an optimal manner and the area does not exceed agreed expenditure budgets.
Define long-term strategy for the area product portfolio and ensure organisation fitness with market/customer requirements.
Contribute to the overall marketing long and short term strategy in terms of allocating resources, portfolio priorities and organisation change.
Ensure the team identify critical success factors and develop well thought through marketing programmes, core to addressing CSFs and implementing approved product strategies within agreed budgets.
Ensure plans/strategies accommodate the changes taking place in the market and respond to customer need.
Oversee the effective implementation of the marketing plan in relation to key marketing programmes critical to the success of the product.
Ensure the marketing team effectively execute the marketing mix at product level
Maintain effective working relationships across the multi-disciplinary team within the function and cross function at a local and regional level to obtain input to plans/ programmes and ownership to implement plans as required.
Motivate all relevant personnel within and across functions through communication of the business units vision, clarity of direction and leading by example.
Proactive development of marketing and promotional mix to meet brand objectives and customer needs.
Monitor business performance and external environment via appropriate tools to deliver corrective action as required to meet business objectives.
Perform scientific monitoring and competitive intelligence. Work with market research agencies to understand customer insights & market dynamics.
Work with Global PR agencies to design and execute PR campaigns to build portfolio image and increase portfolio awareness.
Support country groups in maximizing new launches, shaping select markets and ensuring strategies / tactics are relevant, practical and executed flawlessly. Liaison with external agencies to deliver initiatives for portfolio
Disease and market understanding to develop customer insights through appropriate techniques/tools.
Support and Build team to achieve team goals.
Management of external agencies to meet team goals.
Acts as brand champion to create enthusiasm and focus internally and with external customers and agencies.
Minimum requirements
Educational Qualification:
University degree or equivalent in Science, Marketing or Business qualification.
Language:
English
Professional Experience:
Extensive experience (7-10 years) in marketing sales management positions within the pharmaceutical industry
Successful record of contribution and/or P&L responsibility
Good understanding of country, regional and local dynamics, including regulatory and market environments
Understanding of product launch and product commercialization processes
Strong analytical skills and high learning agility
Superior ability to communicate, collaborate effectively and push things through/across a global, matrixed company
Excellent project management capabilities
