Job Title: Group Head of Marketing and Communications - Mixta Africa
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Reports to: Chief Corporate Support
Overview
Responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of marketing and communication (external and internal) activities that will help MIXTA AFRICA achieve its strategic objectives
Key Interactions:
Country Head of Sales and Marketing, Country MDs
Main Responsibilities
Set overall strategy for marketing and communication for the group.
Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance Mixta’s brand identity; broaden awareness of its projects and priorities; and increase the visibility of its projects and initiatives across key stakeholder audiences
Create marketing/public relations strategy that will allow Mixta management to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key stakeholders, including corporate and government partners
Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization, working with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external marketing and communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
Actively engage, cultivate, and manage press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding Mixta’s projects, special events, public announcements, other initiatives projects
Oversee development of all Mixta’s print communications including the annual report, marketing materials and electronic communications including Mixta’s website and new media; manage relationships with associated vendors
Play a consultative role to in country Heads of sales and marketing on design and implementation of marketing efforts for their real estate projects

KPIs
Total spend to remain within marketing budget - Indicator ensures budget discipline, to make sure that the department sticks to its budget. This will be scored by the deviation of the total spend from the target budget. Anything below budget will be scored perfectly, the larger the spend above the budget, the lower the score (30%)
Total annual sales – Indicator is the overall sales of properties. This will be scored by calculating the percentage difference as compared to the targets for the progress of sales as set by leadership beforehand. The larger the negative difference between the target and the actual result, the lower the score. (20%)
Local/ brand awareness (survey of target segments) - Indicator measures the success of marketing efforts for both local and international customer segments This should be scored by surveying target segments to rate their awareness on a scale of "Never heard of" to "Trust and will consider buying". Mixta should consider partnering with an independent research company to obtain results from key target segments (20%)
Competitive share - measures the amount of sales that Mixta gets compared to its competitors This is measured by the total annual property sales contract value compared to the top three developers in country. The larger the negative difference against the set target, the lower the score. (10%)
Timeliness of reports – Percentage of reports that are delivered to the target audience as per the agreed deadlines (5%)
Quality of Reports – Level of comprehensiveness, reflection on actuality, communication of key next steps (5%)
Direct report feedback-The annual average rating from 180-degree surveys launched to direct reports (10%)
Requirements
University degree (or equivalent), preferably in marketing or business administration
10 years professional experience with 5+ years in a managerial capacity
Skills:
Understanding of real estate market
Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization’s mission and goal
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier partners, and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media
Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, and administration initiatives
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
