Job Description
The Company’s Investment Operations function focuses on two areas: administrative and operational processes relating to clients’ accounts; and coordination/management of the processes required to implement investment decisions and support the investment process
Thus, the Investment Operations Officer will be expected to provide valuable support to the client acquisition/management and investment management process.
Specific responsibilities will be to:
Provide client and fund/portfolio services such as on/off boarding of clients, attending to client enquiries, and maintaining all client related records
Conduct all the operations activities related to investment with prime focus on best execution of trades which accord with approved investment decisions and accurate settlement of trades
Produce various internal and external reporting including but not limited to client, regulatory, and management reports
Prepare and analyze daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and metrics including payment of approved fees and expenses
Liaise with counterparties such as Custodian, Registrars, and Brokers to ensure the smooth processing of transactions
Work with the Finance and Compliance functions to ensure compliance with ongoing regulatory requirements for investment funds and portfolios managed by the Company
Attend to and resolve queries from clients, regulators, and trade counterparties
Handle trade and account reconciliation
Identify problems and inefficiencies with various processes and develop and implement solutions.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
First Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related fields
A minimum of 5 (five) years experience in a similar function for an asset management company
Strong proficiency in the use of relevant line of business solutions and MS Office tools
Team player with the ability to think and act independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Quick leamer, comfortable dealing with ambiguous and fluid situations
Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple deliverables and perform under very demanding conditions
Attention to detail and organisational skills
Superior analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex data
High level of passion, integrity, creativity, inquisitiveness and self confidence.
