Full-stack Developer at OneFi Nigeria

OneFi started in 2012 as a brick and mortar consumer lender focused on the Nigerian market. Having raised a Series A round in 2015, we pivoted in 2016 to become a digital lender via the Paylater App (www.paylater.ng) and we are focused on provided access to financial services to the “Next Billion’ starting in Africa.

Currently, we are the largest fully automated smartphone lender in West Africa with over 1,000,000 apps downloaded and disbursing just under 2,000 loans per day in Nigeria and Ghana. Our 2018 goal is to be a digital bank in 3 countries and have secured a banking license in Nigeria already.

• We are looking for a passionate, career driven Full-stack to join our team. This is a great opportunity to gain significant and substantial experience.

Requirements
The ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Must have been building robust, maintainable, scalable web-based applications for at least 5 years.
• Must be able to work comfortably in a team.
• Knowledge of JavaScript / HTML / CSS / PHP.
• Good working knowledge of Relational Database Systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle) and/or NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Elastic, Cassandra).
• Knowledge of PHP (laravel), Angular JS and vueJS
• Knowledge of GIT
• Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and/or other automated testing skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

The following are optional but will enhance your chances of being considered:

• Understanding of basic financial and accounting concepts.
• Experience with managing and deploying applications on AWS.
• Site/Software Development: The Full-stack Developer plays an active role in the Carbon’s key website development.
• S/He oversees front-end development for the websites by building prototypes and conducting the documentation that articulates the sites’ structures and organization. In this capacity, the Full-stack Developer also implements any requested template, JavaScript, PHP and CSS changes to the already existent websites.
• S/He develops code using JavaScript, HTML5, PHP and CSS on responsive sites across multiple browsers, tablets, and other internet accessing devices such as phones in order to ensure accessibility of the site from multiple devices. It is also their  duty to build reusable code and libraries that may be used in future and reduce site building workload for the business.
• Troubleshooting and Testing: The Full-stack Developer is tasked with defining, designing, and executing testing of sites/software. S/He plays a leading role in troubleshooting and fixing any frontend issues and tests the site/software for multi-device and cross-browser capability.
• The Full-stack Developer is also responsible for evaluating site/software specs prior to their implementation in order to ensure the features complexity is properly understood.
• Experience: The candidate must have at least 5 years of working experience gathering site/software development experience. In this time the candidate must have gained vast practical experience building and maintaining websites and becoming proficient in web development inclusive of HTML5, PHP and CSS. The candidate will also demonstrate a strong understanding of user interface scripting and JavaScript frameworks, inclusive of jQuery as well as a keen understanding of SEO principles.
• S/He will further demonstrate a keen understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and mitigation measures for each of those issues.
• The candidate will also have an ability to utilize testing tools for the purpose of ensuring maximum consistency among a vast array of browsers and devices. S/He will also be highly experienced in user interface development and be highly experienced in the workings of AGILE/SCRUM, AngularJS, ASP.Net MVC, Grunt, SASS, or other frontend web technologies.
• As a bonus, the candidate will also have some experience working on middle-tier and backend site/software development.
