Job Title: Protection Data Assistant
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Starting Date: depending on grants signature
General Objective
Under the supervision of the Deputy Project Manager, the Data Protection Officer will contribute to the implementation of Protection activities through supporting the Protection team in data collection, consolidation and quality management.
S/he will be in charge of the compilation and data analysis, data cleaning and the Kobo extract to ensure the protection and proper internal management of the protection data.
In close coordination with MEAL department, S/he will also be in charge of supporting the accountability strategy for the Protection Department in Maiduguri, as well as strengthen capacity-building and capitalization through the development and the implementation of learning tools and process.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Data Management & Data Protection:
Ensure that the data collected goes through a data cleaning and validation process each day;
Implement the design, with the support of the MEAL team, of all existing Protection papers surveys forms into the Kobo system format
Ensure that data are properly uploaded on a daily basis
Implementation of the Accountability Strategy:
Participate in the Community Committee meeting and monitor the Protection complains with the protection team
Support the complaints and feedback mechanism (CFM) based on the highest levels of integrity which beneficiaries will trust and ensures that they can make confidential complaints and be confident of the response processes.
Monitor complaints received and response (follow-up) processes through developing and maintaining a tracking mechanism.
Ensure that feedback is routinely recorded, reviewed and responded timely
Analyze patterns and trends in complaints to help improve programming.
Be the focal point for the Help Desk protection regular participation and for the Help Desk Team
Conduct periodic field visit to ensure that accountability systems are in place and the necessary support is provided as needed.
Assist in training of beneficiaries, community leaders, community facilitators/mobilisers and Field staff
Internal and External Reporting:
Update Deputy Program Manager on daily achievements and challenges encountered on the field and provide advices to the field team on the Kobo daily management if needed
Keep monitoring tools and files archived at the PUI office, ensuring their availability to the Protection PM and DPM
Pass on any information or problems to her/his direct and/or indirect supervisor concerning her/his task, PUI programs, or safety aspects

Requiered Skills
Language skills: Fluent in Kanuri, Hausa and English (speaking/reading/writing),
Education degree: At least a degree or diploma in Statistics, Mathematics, Demography, Sociology, or a numeracy discipline.
Work experience: Proven experience working in NGOs. Previous experience in data base design, and data management is an asset
Knowledge and skills: Good analytical and writing skills/very good team spirit/Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions and capacity building activities,
Computer skills: Comprehensive knowledge of the MS office software especially Excel, and database management. ExcelA basic understanding of data analysis packages such as SPSS, Epi-Info etc.
