Job Description
Responsible in preparing multi-discipline drawings based on the preliminary field surveys/sketches and information received from other discipline engineers within the appropriate time frame. Responsible also in preparing as-built and verifying that all relevant drawings and documents reflect the modifications at site.
- Prepares conceptual layouts for expansion or modifications of existing facilities in accordance with company requirements and by complying with local & international engineering standards.
- Prepares detailed drawings for Civil, Mechanical/Piping, Electrical, Structural, Instrumentations and other drawings for modifications and additions to the existing facilities based on recommendations and data from Engineers.
- Conducts field surveys and actual measurements to ensure dimensional correctness of the existing facility.
- Develops construction drawings required from various Facility Change requests.
- Provides material take-off as required.
- Performs limited detailing works such as computations of pipeline elevations and distances and extraction of details from some standard drawings and codes.
- Prepares and circulates construction drawing packages for comments, incorporate comments and develops final construction drawings.
- Collects as-built data from field after completion of installations works and updates the relevant drawings and documents.
- Reviews all drawings received from Contractors after project completion.
- Maintains the Master Documents electronic archive and updates them periodically.
- Takes Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) lead in ensuring "safe systems of work" and "safe conditions" are in place within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrates visible commitment to HSE by periodically leading / taking part in risk assessments, audits, HSE meetings, emergency drills, etc.
- Ensures assigned staff complies with all company HSE policies & procedures and related initiatives.
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned by senior management.
Requirements
- University Engineering Degree (Civil).
- An M.Sc in Civil Engineering or Structural will be an advantage.
- At least 8-10 years varied drafting experience in projects within the oil & gas / petrochemical / petroleum industry.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and best engineering practices including local & International regulations & codes especially in the design of petroleum processing facilities.
- Ability to carry out or provide input to Front End/Conceptual Engineering studies with respect to geotechnical and civil design issues.
- Very high degree of proficiency in computerized design & drawing using AutoCAD. Knowledge of Plant Design is an advantage.
