Job Description
Ensure there is a clear technical basis and associated operational data for all engineering activities to be carried out by Facilities Engineering through interfacing with other Company departments/functions.
Liaise with other APDNL departments to develop FDP's and other miscellaneous field development concepts.
Assist Facilities department by putting together technical justifications and documentation for all required permits and licenses, as well as monitoring and expediting progress of such requirements, in close working relationship with other Company departments (PSC, NCD, DPR, Contracts, etc)
Develop and document technical justifications for all key design decisions and changes that affect/impact on Company's operations.
Scope and execute Front-End Engineering and Conceptual Design studies as required.
Work with other APDNL departments to develop FDP's and other miscellaneous field development concepts.
Ensure Technical Justification documentation is routinely prepared in readiness for Technical Change Panel review meetings to be chaired by the Engineering Manager.
Co-ordinate update of Project Design and Engineering procedures in consultation with the QA/QC section.
Supervise the performance of Consultants providing Design and Engineering services for the Project.
Lead and participate in Technical reviews and Safety and Operability studies as they relate to Front-End work.
Prepare technical justifications and documentation for all required permits and licenses, in close liaison with other Company departments (PSC, NCD, Contracts etc).
Track and expedite progress of all pending permit and license applications.
Initiate and manage Engineering contracts for Front-End engineering, soil investigation, pipeline route surveys, front-end studies, etc.
Prepare budgets for all front-end activities and raise corresponding Approval For- Expenditure Requests (AFE's) and monitor the same.
Provide monthly and weekly progress reports, including areas of concern, key activities / milestones, progress versus plan and activities look ahead for ongoing Engineering activities.
Act for the Engineering Manager during leave and other absences.
Requirements
Minimum of a University 2nd Class Honours Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical/Process Engineering Discipline.
Full member of an Internationally recognised professional engineering institute.
Minimum of 18 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, with at least 8 years in a similar position. Operating company and Nigerian / West African experience preferred.
Sound knowledge of International Oil and Gas design standards.
Proven skills in leading multi-disciplined, multi-cultural engineering teams and delivering engineering projects on time and within budget.
