Role Summary
Plan, manage and deliver projects in Anglophone West Africa from transfer through to Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) or Final Acceptance Certificate (PAC) ensuring that additional business opportunities are pursued and to deliver high levels of Customer satisfaction and maximum margin/value.
Essential Responsibilities
At level of Complex Large Projects, the Senior Project Manager (SM) has the capacity to manage projects which are classified “Complex full set” according to Project Management Handbook and identified as “strategic” by management with a strategic customer in terms of secured and potential contracts or target market
That constitutes a severe financial, technical and commercial risk & opportunities
The impact of the project will have a significant effect at Sector level
A multi-Unit project, where SM is the leader, Operating within an international environment with many complex internal and external interfaces
Main Responsibilities
Primary interface to Customer for all official communication
Overall responsibility to deliver project according to contractual conditions & objectives set by his/her direct manager
Owns the project governance and strategy to be followed by the project team
Leads the Project team and ensure the project coordination
Lead and manage the team to ensure performance standards, annual objectives, policies and procedures are met
Ensure the team has the right level of know-how and competency to perform their responsibilities through coaching and development
Empowered to make decisions for the benefit of the project
Manages the Risks and Opportunities assessment, proposes and follows action plans
Organizes and manages the Project Master Time Schedule
Implements and follows transverse actions for the benefit of the Project
Reports on monthly basis the consolidated project situation the progress to Sector Management and is helped by Sector Management to take strategic decisions
Run full consolidated Projects Reviews on a quarterly basis with the different participating Units and Operation Director of Regions or Product Lines as per Grid Solutions Governance

Qualifications/Requirements
Degree level or equivalent education or equivalent knowledge or experience
Most suitable candidates will possess an engineering-related degree, although some may come from a general management /commercial background
Fluent in verbal and written English
A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)
Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
Desired Knowledge & Experience:
Certified as PM level A or should be certified in the following 6-9 months after assignment
The candidate shall have the competencies associated with this level (see competency wheel described in PM Certification procedure)
World class Project Manager with proven track record
Management of projects within a consortium or partnership environment
10-15 years' experience of managing large and complex projects
Project Management in an international environment
Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and high project local content
Experience of team building and team culture development
Proven track record of significant improvement of project margin
Management of projects with severe financial, technical and commercial risk
Experience of P&L objectives
Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium periods and to travel world-wide
Experience of Transmission and/or Distribution industry
