Job Description
- Looking for a two days Project Management and Team Building Training Facilitator (humanitarian context)
Background and Overview
With funding from DFID, SIDA and OFDA, IRC Nigeria Protection and Rule of Law is providing emergency assistance and protection services for IDPs, returnees and host community members in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states of northeastern Nigeria, by ensuring that those affected by conflict especially the marginalized groups and individuals have meaningful access to humanitarian assistance and that assistance contributes and promotes their safety and dignity. Through Protection programming the IRC is serving to reduce protection risks faced by conflict affected populations and improve their access to and quality of services through its intervention. As such, the IRC Protection program in Nigeria seeks to build capacity within IRC to enhance the delivery of humanitarian aid across the program sites.
Considering the constantly changing local context, increased funding for IRC Protection sector activities, growth in staff numbers, IRC Nigeria 2020 country strategy, introduction of new approaches and the desire for continued growth and improvement in program quality, it is relevant to have a solid knowledge of PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND TEAM BUILDING during the sector’s residential planning meeting and training in the first week of November 2018 in Abuja-FCT for all Protection staff in the IRC Nigeria country program by an external facilitator (consultant) for one day.
The external facilitator will take the team through project management and team building in humanitarian context.
Training Objectives:
- To equip staff with required skill of project management and implementation plans
- To equip staff with team building knowledge
Expected Out Comes:
- Work plans and action plans for thematic areas finalized
- Protection staff (national) can more ably manage implementation of sector activities with clear understanding of the project cycle
- Team spirit enhanced among staff with better growth opportunity
- All Protection staff have the same understanding about Protection sector programs

Requirement
- The facilitator must have general knowledge of humanitarian project cycle and the Nigeria humanitarian context alongside donor/agency arising issues.
