Job Title: General Manager, Bagno Technik
Location: Lagos
Job Profile
The role of the GM, Bagno Technik is to oversee the installation and maintenance division of the company.
The role will require supervising a team of project engineers and contractors to complete major projects for the organization.
The position will be accountable for technical delivery of projects.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the GM, Bagno Technik is required to initiate creative ways of generating revenue for the business and delivering top-notch customer satisfaction to all our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing the definition, implementation and execution of projects which will include renovations, interiors fits-outs, construction and providing solutions to client business needs
Overseeing the technical specifications for contracts, review technical proposals, processes and manage contractor performance
Performing Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Audits on all projects
Responsible for vendor identification, pre-qualification, tender clarifications and technical evaluations
Making field visits during construction phase, and interfaces with contractors around project schedule, interpretation of project document, codes etc.
Performing multidisciplinary roles while liaising with subject matter experts
Managing the construction process on site ensuring that the work in progress complies with the approved drawings
Ensuring that the standards and quality meets expectations set out in the contract
Ensuring timely and effective communication with appropriate stakeholders for changes to approved scope, quality, cost and schedule with strict adherence to the Change Management Procedure
Managing a team of professionals, consultants and work men to deliver projects.
Performing earned value analyses and recommend proactive measures for efficient time and cost management
Ensuring strong safety culture in the project team and compliance with company HSE standards by contractors on site
Identifying project risks; develop plans to mitigate and manage the risks
Effectively managing customer issues, interface and engage with end-users to ensure customer satisfaction
Overseeing capital improvement / asset preservation programs with design and construction processes at multiple sites through local resources, with minimal oversight
Overseeing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously and for more than one client
Developing and assisting in developing project budget including hard and soft costs
Managing a required team of consultants and contractors. (Negotiating and administering contracts with each team member; Interfaces with architects, client, property managers and vendors)
Maintaining client relationships and may assist in or manages conflict resolution
Providing appropriate level of on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are being met
Developing relationships with consultants/contractors/vendors and evaluating their performance.
Requirements
B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
Master's Degree or MBA in Management related course
minimum of 12 years’ experience with 5 years in a managerial role
Good planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
Familiar background with industry and regulatory standards, procedures and practices with the ability to ensure execution of work in a safe and methodological manner
Project management abilities with demonstrated full life cycle project engineering experience
Very strong project management skill.
