Job purpose
The role is responsible for proactively and independently managing relationships with academic and professional staff from faculties and all other areas of the University.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will ensure the provision of high level and comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Coordinators of the University Core subjects, the Core Curriculum Committee and the Pro Vice - Chancellor (Academic) as required.
The incumbent is required to have established, professional judgment skills and the ability to be an effective public interface for the University Core. Operating with a high degree of independence in a fast paced environment, the Core Executive Officer is required be exceedingly well organised, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
The role is responsible for providing support and advice on staffing issues, ensuring that staff contracts and paperwork are prepared in a timely manner and that staff are orientated into the University.
The Core Executive Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all adjunct teaching staff are provided with all information and resources necessary to discharge their responsibilities.
The position is required to be an expert in all aspects of the University Core subjects and have a working knowledge of the undergraduate programs of the University. The incumbent will provide an interface between students and the University Core.
The position is also required to advise, where appropriate, students of the rules, precedents, guidelines and policies established by the University in relation to the University Core and will assist the Pro Vice - Chancellor (Academic) with policy developments.
The post holder may be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as directed by the Head of Department.

Candidate must possess an OND/HND
Continued Professional development
NYSC discharge certificate/certificate of exemption is mandatory
Experience/Knowledge:
Essential:
Candidate must hold a minimum of seven (7) years cognate experience.
Candidate must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant.
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Software, Specifically proficient in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
