Program Mission

• The Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is a higher Diploma that is specifically designed for Non-Education graduates that are either currently teaching or intend to take up teaching appointment in later life. 
• It is designed to provide would-be teachers with in-depth knowledge and understanding of teaching pedagogy including lesson plan and preparations, teaching strategies, teacher and student evaluation procedure, use of teaching materials and infusing of technology into teaching.
• All with a view to ensuring production of competent and efficient teachers. It is hereby suggested that all academic staff in all institutions of learning shall take note of this opportunity.

Admission Eligibility
Candidate seeking admission into the KWASU PGDE program must possess one of the following qualifications:

• An honors degree of the Kwara State University, Malete or any other recongnised Universities across the world as approved by the Senate of KWASU.
• Candidates with good first degree in the Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences and all other discipline from any approved/Accredited Universities are eligible for admission.
• HND with Distinction / credit/merit passes in relevant teaching subjects.
• An NYSC Discharge Certificate or a Letter of Exemption from NYSC Service is required as evidence

Programme Duration
The PGDE programme shall run on a part-time basis. The duration of the program shall be two (2) contact sessions. In addition, students will be required to spend twelve (12) weeks on the field for their teaching practice in any approved institutions of Learning, a technical college, vocational centres or an industrial training school, as the case may be.
