National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), Abuja, Nigeria - Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: Director- General/Chief Executive Officer

Location: Abuja

Overall Mandate of the Agency

• Promotion, coordination and deployment of cutting-edge biotechnology research & development, processes and products for the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Eligibility of Applicants
Applicants for the post of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer must:

• Possess at least a Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the research mandate of the Agency;
• Have obtained first degree in biological sciences from a recognised institution and possess at least twenty-five (25) years post-graduation cognate experience in a Research Institute/Academia including at least five (5) years as a Director (research) and its equivalence or higher rank (s)/position (s) in the Academia;
• Have had extensive relevant research experience as evidenced by at least forty (40) scientific publications in reputable local and International journals and books;
• Possess basic computer literacy certificate;
• Have considerable administrative experience in Research Institute/Academia; and
• Have ability to attract external funds/grants to the Agency.

Terms and Conditions of Service
The tenure of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer shall be for a period of four (4) years. Conditions of service are as provided for Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc (Amendment) Act, 2008 and as applied to Federal Government Research Institutes.
