Basic Function of the Position
The incumbent maintains and performs major and minor repairs and overhaul on vehicles. S/he provides work guidance to other Local Staff in the General Services Office Mechanic unit.
Position Requirements

Completion of Secondary School education and vocational training/apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman auto mechanic skills is required.
Minimum of three (3) years of journeyman automotive mechanic experience and one additional year working on American made vehicles is required.
Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing/Reading in English is required. Language proficiency will be tested.
Must have full journeyman knowledge of established practices and procedures of the automotive mechanic trade and a general knowledge of other trade specialties involved.
The ability to handle all tools including electronic diagnostic and automotive special tools required for the trade, as well as the ability to take instructions and adhere to safety regulations is required.
Basic typing skills, with a valid Nigerian Driver’s License is required.

Additional Selection Criteria

The candidate must be able to obtain and hold the local security certification after selection.
Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.

Salary
OR - Ordinarily Resident (OR) - 3,591,291 p.a. (Starting basic salary) Position Grade: FSN-06
In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.
NOR - Not Ordinarily Resident - AEFM/EFM/MOH - US$32,378 (Base Schedule) FP-08* - Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington
