The Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron (MAN, Oron) is the premier Maritime training institution statutorily established in Nigeria. The Academy has the main function among others - to admit and train the various levels of personnel required for running and operating ships of the merchant navy.

Job Title: Director, Works & Services
Location: Akwa Ibom
Duties
- The Director, Works & Services shall be responsible to the Rector for the physical development, maintenance and care of the Academy’s estate, rehabilitation of existing facilities and development of new ones, including roads, water, electricity, vehicles, equipment and furniture in administrative, academic and residential areas ensuring cost effectiveness.
- Preparing and maintaining the Academy’s fixed assets register and making periodic reports to the Rector on physical state of the Academy.
- Responsible for co-ordination and control of the Works & Services Department activities in the Academy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Candidates for the position of Director, Works & Services should possess a good honours degree in Engineering, plus membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Registration with COREN. Possession of Master Degree in Engineering shall be an added advantage.
- In addition, Candidate must have spent four (4) years as Deputy Director, Works & Services in tertiary institutions.
The Candidates:
- The Director, Works & Services shall be a person of high integrity and of strong moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
- The person must be computer literate, be able to instil confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
- He/she must be in good health and not more than 45 years of age on assumption of duty.
Conditions of Service
The conditions of service of the Director, Works & Services shall include the following:
- CONTEDISS 15 step 5.
- Other fringe benefits as obtained in the conditions of service of the Academy;
- Tenure of appointment shall be to the retirement age of 60 years, or 35 years of service, whichever comes first.
