Director General at the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA)

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) established in 1960, is the umbrella organization for all the various affiliate member chambers within the country. The Association’s membership is voluntary and it encompasses City, State and Bilateral Chambers, Business/Professional Association and Corporate Bodies. It champions the course of business through its advocacy role and influence public policies that promote free enterprise.

Requirements

• The DC shall be the Administrative Head of the Secretariat and shall be responsible to the National President who is the Chairman of the Association’s Council. The DC by the virtue Of that office shall be Secretary to the Association’s Council.
• The candidate must be versed in the administration of such an umbrella body dealing with both National Chambers and Multilateral Chambers of Commerce.
• The candidate shall fully subscribe to and be a believer in the vision, mission and core values of the Association.

Qualifications

• A good Honours degree from a recognized university with at least a minimum of 15 years cognate experience.
• A post-graduate qualification in administration or policy areas will be an added advantage.
• The candidate must be ICT savvy. Also, knowledge and proficiency in another foreign language apart from English language is required.

Other Operational Expectations:

• In addition to the above academic qualifications, the candidate shall be expected to be a person with:
  • Outstanding leadership qualities, team player who can inspire and motivate subordinates to achieve the Association’s goals.
  • Be able to draw up and organize revenue yielding activities like training, consultancy and trade missions for both members and non-members of the Association.
  • Excellent inter-personal relations.
  • Excellent physical and mental health.

Terms and Conditions of Service

• The appointment shall be for a three year term renewable by the Council for a second term based on perceived performance of the candidate during the first term.
• The full remuneration package applicable to the office of the Director General of the Association are negotiable.
