Job Title: Logistics Coordinator Assistant

Main Purpose
Assist the logistics coordinator in specific activities and assume some delegated tasks, according to his/her instructions and complying with ALIMA standards, in order to ensure a proper logistics management in the mission and provide support to logistics activities in the projects.
Accountabilities
Participate actively in the definition and update of annual project planning and budgets and the emergency preparation plan, defining strategy and advising the logistics coordinator in the translation of the identified logistical/technical needs into objectives, priorities and resources needed for intervention.
Support the logistics coordinator and/or the supply manager in organizing the ordering and transport of goods to the different projects, in order to comply with their needs in terms of quality and timelines.
Support the mission in the organization and supervision of the fleet of vehicle in the coordination base (driver’s schedules, vehicles maintenance, vehicles registration and insurance, fuel consumptions, etc.), in order to ensure coping with the transportation and movement needs.
Support the mission in ensuring that repair maintenance of equipment (generators and power back-up systems, cold chain equipment, water pumps, etc.) and inform to the logistic coordinator in case of any further needs concerning technical equipment, in order to have an adequate running
Assist the mission with the checkup and supervision of the proper functioning of the computers and other communication and IT equipment, in order to ensure a continuous and appropriate flow of information and communication.
Cover gaps in the mission logistics department.
Support the Logistics coordinator in the planning and ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training), and participate in any emergency activity or exploratory visit, in order to ensure giving appropriate assistance to population.
Ensure the installation and maintenance of functional office spaces and lodging facilities in an adequate living condition as well as all the equipment required.
Support the logistics coordinator in strengthening the management of assets. Ensure a proper track, record and dispose of assets.
Support the logistics coordinator in the implementation of the applied logistics security and safety.
Take initiative and anticipation by being proactive. Refer to the logistics coordinator for all actions to be taken.
Inform the logistics coordinator in case of any major issue and draw-up all required reporting, in order to keep updated and reliable information that will ease decision-making.
Receive, analyse and compile the monthly logistics reports from field logistics managers and produce the mission reports to submit to the logistics coordinator.
Requirements
Education:
Degree or equivalent in Logistics Management, Business Management or similar field.
Experience:
At least two years of experience on the same position.
Languages:
English, Hausa and Kanuri or any other local languages.
Knowledge:
Good technical skills in 2 or more of the following (electricity, mechanics, construction, supply chain management)
Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
