Job Title: Data Entry Clerk
Location: Yobe
Scope of the Vacancy
COOPI is implementing an integrated Food Security and Nutrition programme which focuses on ensuring adequate food intake, promoting the adoption of optimal Infant and Young Children Feeding Practices (IYCF), conducting community MUAC screening, referral and follow up of the identified malnourished cases.
The Data Entry Clerk is expected to maintain and update the project database which includes but not limited to MUAC screening, referral and follow up database, IYCF sensitization activities, project impact monitoring system.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
With the support and supervision of the Project Manager and the Nutrition Officer, the Data Entry Clerk is expected to carry out the following tasks:
Data entry, cleaning and verification
Ensure effective data management through recording daily, weekly and monthly statistics on project activities
Period/weekly reports as requested by supervisors
Support field staff in data collection ensuring consistency of data, compliance with templates and procedures and timely reporting
Secure information by completing database backups
Exercise extreme precaution and confidentiality when handling personal data of project beneficiaries
Provide system maintenance as per required standard
Maintaining database and archive of the hard copies in a timely, organized manner
Collaborate with the project team and provide training on basic IT skills and data-entry activities
Any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisors in connection to the project.
Profile of the Candidate (Education, Training, Competences, Skills)
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Computer Sciences or its equivalent
Experience working with data collection and analysis
Demonstrated ability to deal with Windows SO and with Microsoft Office packages, in particular Word and Excel
Capacity to establish and maintain productive relations with a range of actors from different national and cultural backgrounds
Ability to plan and organize work and write clear and concise reports and communicate effectively orally
Availability to travel and conduct field visits in COOPI’s intervention areas both in Borno and Yobe state
Fluency in oral and written English and knowledge of Hausa
Good communication skills, proactive
Desirable:
Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local context
Previous experience with INGOs
Familiarity with Food and Nutrition assistance Programme
