General Context of the Project
PUI, ACTED/REACH, INTERSOS, SI, and TDH will join their efforts to comprehensively address the needs of the most vulnerable populations affected by the conflict in North East Nigeria following a holistic, evidence-based, principled and integrated multi-sector approach. Significant added value to the quality of the intervention will be enabled through the leverage of the complementarity between the different organizations' technical expertise, and the different stage of experience in the targeted areas of interventions. Most importantly, the creation of the consortium is born from the joint analysis that after 8 years of protracted crisis, the humanitarian response in North East Nigeria suffers from major shortcomings in terms of coordination, evidence-based analysis of the needs, integrated approach and resources rationalization. Optimized and comprehensive coverage of the most critical needs of the affected population, particularly in hard-to-reach areas where the humanitarian response is little developed. With REACH, a multi-sector needs assessment was conducted that highlighted critical gaps in three LGA of Borno State: MMC, Kukawa and Mobbar LGA. Along with an integrated response, the consortium will ensure protection mainstreaming and will address cross-cutting protection needs (Gender-based violence and Child protection).
The objective of this action will be both the delivery of essential services and the strengthening of a protection focused response as a whole, in order to provide the basis for a principled comprehensive intervention, increase sustainability of actions and enhance synergies among implementing partners. In parallel and emergency preparedness and response has been planned, particularly in reaction of epidemic outbreak.
General Purpose of the Position
- Defining, coordinating and monitoring the medical activities under his/her responsibility according to INTERSOS standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Project Management:
- Coordinating, assessing and supervising the proper functioning of the medical activities according to INTERSOS standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients’ health conditions.
- Supervising and ensuring that medical activities objectives under his/her responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
- Ensuring an efficient pharmacy management and monitoring the rational use of them. Preparing the medical orders needed to implement the medical activities under his/her responsibility, and identifying and reporting to the line manager, non-medical support needs (material, infrastructure, transport, etc.)
- Coordinating and monitoring the daily working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves ...).
- Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to improve staff capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
- Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines (i.e. SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.).
Education
- Medical Doctor or Paramedical degree. Desirable specialization or training in Tropical Medicine or related studies.

- Relevant working experience of at least 3 years in medical projects.
