Job Summary
The Coordinator, GIS supports implementation of technical projects within eHA’s Geographic information systems (GIS) Department.
S/he coordinates the compilation and analysis of geospatial data; S/he prepares data, analyzes data, and prepares paper and web map applications using various tools and applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the Coordinator, GIS will work under the supervision of the GIS Technical Lead to perform the following responsibilities:
Identifies, analyzes, and defines changes to GIS applications software and related systems and subsystems that maximizes efficiencies for better services to users.
Supports in the development and management of GIS project plans including defining requirements, tasks, and resource assignments, ensuring that approved quality levels and deadlines are met. Provides technical expertise and user training support to all GIS users across eHA.
Independently organize and conduct large, complex GIS analysis projects. Provides technical expertise and user training support to all GIS users across eHA.
Coordinates the acquisition of new spatial data and supervises the integration of the data into eHA’s GIS. Leads in the design, development and creation of databases, maps and other related projects.
Supervise and strengthen the skills of GIS Analysts.
Integration of data from multiple sources into the spatial data repository.
Act as technical lead on GIS projects when required.
Prepare quality assurance plans for GIS tasks and oversee their implementation.
Serves as system administrator for GIS ensuring that application software and hardware operates efficiently and meets eHA’s needs for Information Technology.
Assists in the development and management of GIS project plans including defining requirements, tasks, and resource assignments, ensuring that approved quality levels and deadlines are met.
Develop vector and raster spatial analysis models using QGIS Modeler, ModelBuilder, Python, R or other GIS scripting languages.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job:
Degree Requirement: Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Geography, or other GIS/Information Systems Technology related degree
5+ years of GIS experience and minimum of 2 years at a senior level
Working knowledge of open Source GIS stack (QGIS, PostGIS and Geoserver), data transformation tools (FME Desktop and/or Kettle) and Commercial GIS stack (ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox), ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server
Relevant working experience in an NGO is desirable
Experience working in an agile environment
Working knowledge of carto visualization platform
Strong knowledge and experience of Geospatial data management life cycle
Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver within tight timelines while being flexible in adapting to new roles
Strong leadership skills that include the ability to work effectively within teams, ability to motivate others, delegation, and timely/quality decision making. Training and presentation experience is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and great attention to detail. Action oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment
Certifications and Licenses:
GISP certification or RICS Chartered Geomatics certification desirable
