Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Ogun State University) was established as a multi-campus institution in 1982 by the Ogun State Government as an autonomous public Institution with the sole purpose of providing higher education in the Humanities, Sciences, Technology and Medicine and encouraging the advancement of learning in all major spheres of human endeavour. In its thirty-five years of existence, the University has impacted positively on the society and continues to pursue its vision of being a world-class University in the 21st century with prominence in the areas of teaching, learning, research and linkages with local and international educational institutions.

Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Ogun
The Job
The Librarian shall be a full-time officer and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and the co-ordination of library services in the University.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a good honours Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division, Master and Doctorate degree in Library or Information Science or related field from a recognized University.
Candidates must also have at least ten (10) years of continuous experience in an academic library.
A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications both in quality and quantity in reputable international and national journals is required.
Candidates must be able to provide academic and administrative leadership.
Candidates must have spent three (3) years as a Deputy University Librarian.
Candidates who are over sixty (60) years of age as at the date of this publication are not eligible to apply.
Tenure
The appointment is for a term of five (5) years, renewable for one year subject to satisfactory performance as may be determined by the Governing Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
The person appointed shall be placed on Consolidated Salary Scale and shall enjoy other conditions of service applicable to the position of a Principal Officer of the University.
