KPMG Nigeria - Our client is a Pension Fund Administration company licensed with the National Pension Commission (PENCOM). The company is a fast-growing, leading Nigerian diversified financial services firm with primary interest in traditional asset management, and specialised funds across major sectors in line with PENCOM requirements. In line with her desire to ensure that key roles are filled with individuals with the requisite skills and experience, vacancy exist for an executive director to drive the technical function.

Detailed Job Description

• Reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the preparation, implementation and updating of strategy plans and annual budget for the technical division.
• The Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization and work with Executive management to execute the articulated strategy.
• Specifically, s/he will be responsible for seeking out new business opportunities for the company by developing, coordinating and implementing plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities.
• The jobholder shall align the sales organization’s objectives with the company’s business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.

Requirements

• A minimum of first degree or its equivalent in numerate or semi-numerate disciplines such as Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Finance, Insurance, Law and business studies.
• Advanced university degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law or related fields.
• Relevant professional qualification (CFA qualification preferable)
• A minimum of 12 years post qualification experience of which at least 10 years must have been in the financial sector and 6 years in top/senior management positions
• Thorough knowledge of pension funds and investment management obtained through working experience, including substantive direct working experience
• Sound follow-through, problem-solving, prospecting and negotiation skills and must be extremely service-oriented.
• Strong leadership, supervisory and people management skills, and must be able to influence/ obtain board-level buy-in and approval.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent business communication, presentation and facilitation skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated with a strong drive and commitment to achieving agreed objectives
