Job Title: Manager, Infrastructure and Platform

Core Purpose of the Job
Coordinate the dimensioning of key elements of the Network Enterprise Services department with all stakeholders (access, core) so as to meet present and future requirements in terms of subscribers, technologies etc.
Lead team of functional specialists to define appropriate technologies to deliver cost effective solutions on various transmission media platform for Enterprise Business units customers
Job Summary
Track and ensure information received from relevant stakeholders responsible for planning provides sufficient capacity to support marketing and enterprise business customer forecast and adequate headroom in line with NWG’s 366 strategy.
Ensure proper documentation of projects, and procedures are provided and effectively communicated across all stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and thorough knowledge of the national network through feedback from the Projects Team.
Forecast quarterly material requirements to ensure availability for deployment on Network Enterprise Services/ projects.
Provide support for presentations, meetings etc as required, for the Network Enterprise Services Sales team.
Provide specialist technical support to all other department regarding the network and related problems.
Ensure all input to Network Enterprise Services Network design is completed and received in a timely manner so that it falls in line with the business demands for rollout
Ensure the NES network design strategy ensures technology evolution capability
Accept orders from requesting customers or customer service functions for initial analyses and determination of service delivery requirements.
Develop and present agreed service delivery schedules and final agreements on behalf of the stakeholder departments involved.
Gain in-depth knowledge of the telecommunication industry (Global and Local) trends and developments in order to assess the technology and regulatory impact on MTN’s current and future business
Ensure delivery on the following parameters:
Radio network availability > 99.0%
Core switch Network availability >99.0%
Paps Recharge availability >98.5%
Paps Call ability >98.5%
Network Element Integration Cycle Time -< 1 day (Site Live: RFS – Live )
< 5 days (CN Equipment integration)
Planned events completion rate > 95%
MTT Restoration (Major Outages) < 5 Hours
Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
Track and ensure the plans received from relevant stakeholders responsible for planning Fixed Line and Internet rollout matches unit’s requirements.
Present managed service delivery business value and benefits to internal customers, stakeholders and influence them in the assessment, planning and management of related Enterprise Network Solutions projects.
Interface with other department within Network Group and other groups within the organization, particularly Marketing, Customer relations

Education
First degree in Engineering, Communications
Fluent in English
Advanced Cisco technology training & certification will be an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum 6 years’ experience which includes:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an area of specialisation; with experience in supervising/managing others
Experience working in a medium to large organization
Good knowledge of Wireline and Wireless technologies and the definition of solutions utilising them
Good knowledge of Cambridge broadband products, Intracom Microwave and fiber optics transmission medium, RAD last mile access technologies and future road map,
Stakeholder relationship management; customer service experience and orientation
