Main Purpose of Job
The post holder will be expected Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
Roles and Responsibilities
What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
Carryout electrical preventive /corrective maintenance and repair works to required standard as prescribed by UK Electrical regulation
Regular health and safety checks/compliance in the BDHC estate.
Electrical installation, testing & inspection, maintenance of electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools at all BDHC location to BS standard.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with uk regulations
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Installation and maintenance of washing/drying machines to required standard.
To undertake call out duties as appropriate.
Carry out repairs on all site equipment including pumps/ generators / HVAC / switch gear lighting and power circuits
Essential Qualifications and Experience
City and Guilds qualified preferably advanced certificate: ONC/HNC
3-5 years relevant experience with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude
Have knowledge of UK standards BS7671 and working practices
Sufficient familiarity with UK schematic and electrical, diagrams/illustrations
