International Medical Corps has been operating in Nigeria since November 2013. It currently has its country office in Abuja and field offices in Kano, Sokoto and Maiduguri where it is implementing emergency Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Protection programs, and also building capacity of local health systems and structures, ensuring the provision of quality, accessible Nutrition and Health Care.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Food Security and Livelihood Assistant
Location: Maiduguri
Job Summary
The selected candidate will work as part of a team to implement the food security and Livelihood programme for vulnerable population in Borno State.
Main Responsibilities
Provide assistance for the implementation of identified activities to ensure successful food distributions;
Support the Food Security Officer during the implementation of food assistance (identifying, screening and registering beneficiaries, distribution, monitoring, etc.)
Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the intervention in view of the evolution of the context and needs.
Propose solutions or improvements to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Participate in post-distribution monitoring, document beneficiary feedback and lessons learned.
Contribute to harmonious working relationship with partners, beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders.
Propose solution to solve any problem faced and report them to the team lead.
Participate actively in regular staff and program review meetings
Work in collaboration with the Food Security and Livelihoods officer to ensure smooth implementation of program activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Agriculture or any health related discipline and at least 2 years of professional experience in food assistance interventions. Experience in north east Nigeria is an added advantage
At least two to three (2 to 3) years’ experience in humanitarian interventions focusing on food security and nutrition
An understanding of food security interventions Good command of English and knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Computer knowledge
Experience in problems linked with humanitarian crises
Good knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage
