Interra Networks Ltd. is an Information & Communications Technology (ICT) company headquartered in Atlanta, USA with an office in Abuja, Nigeria. We operate a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) facility in Abuja and provide technology-enabled services to the public and private sector. We are currently recruiting personnel for the following positions:

Job Title: Technical Services Manager

Location: Abuja Nigeria

Role Peofile:

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for overall management and direction of all technical services functions associated with the company. The manager has 3 key duties:
  • She/he will oversee the affairs of the various technical units and ensures alignment with the strategic and operational goals These units include infrastructure, software development, support and applications.
  • She/he will serve as the liaison with the Sales organization and will be responsible for developing proposals for prospects and clients in close association with the Sales team.
  • Develop and strengthen the companys’ relationship with OEMs.
 
The Manager reports to Executive management regarding the operations of these main technical services areas.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements the technical department objectives which define the technical services department mission statement, goals, directions and strategies for maintaining high customer service levels as well as providing for future expansion.
  • Assists in the development of technical proposals to support the Sales and Business Development goals of the company.
  • Directs the activities of technical department unit heads to maintain maximum efficiency of the company’s capital and human resources including hardware, software, and personnel.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with technical department unit heads.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the Sales organization.
  • Insures that all hardware, software, and database issues are solved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Addresses hardware and software issues including standardization, purchasing, evaluations, configuration, training and networking.
  • Develops and coordinates reporting activities.
  • Develops and coordinates in-house technical training seminars to improve overall employee awareness, response time, and ability to look into the future requirements of technical department and the company.
  • Establishes and maintains a technical services resource library containing software, system documentation, relevant periodicals, records and a report management system.
  • Evaluates and maintains new policies or procedures recommended or required by the technical department
  • Develops and reviews cost estimates for personnel requirements, new hardware/software upgrades or additions, and external consulting projects.
  • Coordinates work coverage of personnel including administrative notification during periods of manager vacation, illness, or education.

Skills Required:
  •  Strong leadership and coaching skills. Ability to lead teams and focus efforts on specific goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare succinct written reports and make professional oral presentations
  • Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability using spreadsheets to analyze data and prepare charts and graphs.
  • Technical capabilities. Demonstrable competence with information systems, database technology and operating systems.
  • Customer Relationship. Experience in customer-facing tasks.
  • Self-Starter working under minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of productivity tools Excellent demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
 
Experience and Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, business administration or any related management field.
  • 5 years experience in an Information Technology environment.
  • 4 years experience in an existing hardware and software environment.
  • 3 years experience minimum in management.
  • Certification from major technology vendors is an added advantage.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
