Project Officer - 10th European Development Fund (EDF) Niger Delta Support Programme at The National Planning Commission - EU

The National Planning Commission and the European Union Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria seek to recruit suitable candidates to fill the vacant positions of project officers for the implementation of the European Development Fund Programmes in Nigeria.

We are currently recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Project Officer - 10th European Development Fund (EDF) Niger Delta Support Programme

Job Description

• To support the office of the NAO and the implementing agencies in the management and administration of the projects and to ensure that under the decentralized management component, contracts are awarded and implemented in accordance with the procedures and standard documents laid down & published by the European Union for the implementation of external operations in force at the time of the launch of each procedure.
• The project officer will assist the implementing agency in the preparation and implementation of Programme Estimates (PEs) in compliance with the rules and procedures set out in the prevailing practical guide to programme estimates, among others.

Qualification, Skills and Professional Experiences

• A minimum of Bachelors Degree in social sciences, development economics, public or business administration or related field;
• Experience in programme planning and management, especially familiarity with the Project Cycle Management and the Logical Framework Approach;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail;
• Computer literate, with Sound working knowledge of the full range Microsoft Office programmes;
• Excellent report writing skills and communication skills;
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience working on international, donor- funded development programmes;
• Specific experience and demonstrable knowledge of EDF programmes and procedures desirable; and
• Prior experience of working on micro-projects and/or community development interventions in the Niger Delia desirable
