Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a large conglomerate involved in the Oil & Gas sector to recruit for the below position for its Oil & Gas operations in Nigeria
The Financial Controller will have the responsibility of leading the accounting function within the organisation ensuring that investor assets and investments are protected and enhanced as well as playing a key role in strategic development and operational activities of the company
He/she is to report to the Chief Financial Controller
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring that all the financial data of the Company complies with all the relevant regulatory and reporting requirements
Ensuring the timely and accurate provision of all financial data
Delivery of clear, concise and timely business oriented financial reporting and analysis making quality explanations of business status to the Executive Management team including presentations to the Board
Pro-active monitoring of the financial processes and giving of advice /taking of appropriate action to avert any fraudulent activities in consultation with the CFO
Leading and coordination of ongoing development of reporting systems including the production and development of KPI’s and scorecards to communicate and drive operational performance and efficiency
Active involvement in the strategic planning and monitoring of the execution of the Company’s strategic and commercial objectives
Responsible for the internal and external reporting and presentation of the monthly and quarterly finance pack
Management of key interfaces between business and stakeholders ensuring active and efficient relationships
Coordination of the development and implementation of the overall Finance team’s core competency program in line agreed staff development and succession plans
Leading and coordinating the ongoing development of policies and procedures for the reporting systems
Pro-actively supporting a culture where safety and the environment are priority within all levels of the Company
Act in the stead of the Chief Financial Officer in his/her absence
Qualifications and Experience
Must be a qualified accountant – CA, ACCA, CPM, CIMA preferably from a large accounting background with later Oil and Gas experience
Must have extensive experience in the EPC industry in a strategic position
Must be able to produce and interpret financial and non-financial management information, providing content and insight to aid the decision making and create the efficiencies, solving complex problems
Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills and possess a track record of building relationships and communication across a diverse group of cross functional teams and cultures with the ability to create and manage the right tensions in order to achieve target performance
Must have he ability to develop staff and deliver projects
Previous experience in working in Africa would be a plus
